NVIDIA MAY LAUNCH THEIR NEXT-GENERATION GPU RTX 4000 SERIES IN SEPTEMBER; HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

Nvidia RTX 4090 is the flagship GPU of the 4000 series and is likely to be the only RTX 4000 series graphics card to launch this year. Gpus such as the RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 will be available in the 2023.

Nearly two years have passed since Nvidia launched its RTX 3000 series graphics cards. This year, they unveiled a successor to one of the most influential and controversial gaming technologies.

Now, the company is almost ready to show off its next-generation GPU, the RTX 4000 series.

Nvidia confirmed on the earnings call that it will unveil its new architecture for consumer graphics cards at the company’s GTC 2022 Keynote Speech next month, September 20,2022. We may not see a new graphics card available for purchase that day, but we’ll get a glimpse of the general architecture that will power the upcoming GeForce GPU.

Demand for gaming hardware is down 33 percent from this time last year and 44 percent from the previous quarter, Nvidia said on the conference call. The company said this was due to“Challenging market conditions”. The global economy is now experiencing some inflation, so fewer people are likely to be prepared to spend hundreds of dollars on gaming hardware. However, demand has also fallen-cryptocurrency mining is now less profitable (if any) , so cryptocurrency farms are not buying up all the available supply as they did a few months ago.

Nvidia’s next-generation RTX 40 graphics card was initially rumored to be released sometime in late 2022-not a big surprise given the two-year gap between the RTX 20 and the RTX 30.

In April 2022, it was announced that the AD102 GPU, which is expected to power the top RTX 4090, had entered the testing phase. If true, this is a good sign that the next generation of development is well under way, and if there are no unforeseen test problems, the GPU design is likely to be finalized. Interestingly, other leakers also seem to think that the RTX 4090 will be the first and possibly only 4000 series in 2022. The reason, analysts say, is“Too many stocks”.

This refers to rumors that Nvidia has a large stock of RTX 30-series gpus due to overproduction and GPU saturation in the secondary market during the recent cryptocurrency slump.

Rumor has it that the RTX 4090 will feature 126 streaming multiprocessors, 16,128 CUDA cores, 24 GB of GDDR6X memory, and a clock frequency of 21 Gbps.

The RTX 4080 may offer up to 10,240 CUDA cores, 16GB of GDDR6X VRAM, and a clock frequency of 21Gbps. Compared to the RTX 3080TI, which supports 12GB of GDDRX, the RTX 4080 offers an increase of 4GB and 420W in TDP.

RTX 4070 may have 7168 CUDA cores, 10 or 12 GB of slightly slower GDDR5 VRAM, 18 Gbps clock, and 300W TDP.
